Here's the deal. Whatever stained the seat, most likely coffee, it's still in side the foam of the seat, so when you soak it, it just wicks up to the surface. To take the stain out try a mix of rubbing alchohol and ammonia (70/30) and put a light amount on a rag, blotting and rubbing the area dry as quickly as possible to prevent wicking. Make sure you have a few clean, dry, and absorbent towels with you that you dont mind getting stain into. If the mix doesn't work, try straight rubbing (isoprophyl) alchohol.
References :
x-interior repair specialist

Maybe I'm wrong....it's been known to happen.

But if there was a small spot, and you tried to clean it....and it got bigger, and you KEPT cleaning it, and it got bigger...and you used a vacuum and it got bigger....and you kept CLEANING it.... and it got bigger.... Maybe IT'S not the dirty spot. Maybe IT'S the clean look and the rest is dirty....the more you clean...the more the dirty area goes away.
References :
What is the stain?

Yeah, adding the cleaner only allowed the stain to spread. Next time try blotting up the stain without using a lot of cleaner.

You might need a pro detailer to use an extractor to remove the stain.

In the meantime, use a little bit of cleaner on a clean towel, and try blotting up the stain. Put the towel on the spot and allow it to soak it up. Dont scrub it or spray tons of cleaner on the spot, you will only make it worse. Try a little at a time and see how it goes.
References :
Over 20 years as a car detailer, I hate cleaning interiors, but I'm good at it.
