Does anyone know how to?

How to get the puke smell out of a couch. I have tried Febreeze carpet cleaner, upholstery cleaner, baking powder and soda, I tried bleach. Even regular air freshener. I have also tried cleaning the foam pads and the covers, nothing I do is working. Is it best just to junk it?

Agrees with "john4" and "gloria". Vomit / puke have acid in them from the stomach.. the most effective counter agent to acid IS ACID.. like in lemon juice or vinegar… You can also try tomato based products like tomato juice if you are doing the cushions WITHOUT the covers… and the lemon or vinegar can be used on the covers so no stains appear.

Basically acid kills acid…. protein gets out protein… and so on with most laundry problems…. Happy Cleaning ! : )

If the cover comes off just throw it in the washer hang out to dry (so it won’t shrink). Otherwise sorry I’m not much help.

How large is the soiled area? If it’s really big, call a professional to steam clean the entire couch – it’ll be like brand new!

Steam clean it with a "Rug Doctor" and put it outside in the Sun all day. That should do it.

try white vinegar. pour on vinegar and blot out with a towel, repeat if necessary to completely remove smell. the smell of vinegar will disappear when it dries.
