Where can I get foam for my motorcycle seat?

I’m looking for cell foam or any thin comfortable foam for my motorcycle to replace the current foam. I was told this makes a dramatic difference in seat height. I live in Michigan can anyone direct to any store near here or any major department stores that would sell this?
car shops and motorcycle shops don’t sell foam. Use your brain! I’m just looking for foam, not foam modded to a motorcycle seat shape, just foam!
kb what store did you get this from? Are you talking about something like this?

I’ve called about 7 different fabric shops and no one has this foam, let alone knows what I’m talking about.
Thanks kb, I will go tomorrow and see if they have this in 1/2". If not do think just doubling this up will work?

Try you local motorcycle seat foam shop, any of them will have it.

go to a local auto upholstery shop, they will have foam to do seats. oh and get it extra thick so you can carve it exactly how and where you want it.

I don’t know about the Michigan area, specifically, but any good fabric shop will have foam for seat repair.

When I made a custom seat for my bike I used a bed roll. Most sporting good type stores will have these camping mats, They have no fabric or anything on them they are just 1/2" thick closed cell foam. It works great, 2 layers will make a nice firm thin seat.

Its also easy to work with. Glue it to the seat pan with contact cement (leaving some hanging over the edges). Then trim it up the edges with a razor knife. After that you can do fine shaping/rounding the edges with rough (40grit) sandpaper. Then wrap it with a heavy grade vinyl and you’re done..

Sofly: The store I bought it from was called attwoods (its about the same thing as Tractor Supply). That one you linked looks like it tho. It was that same color/price and they had them in 3/8 and 1/2" thicknesses.

^^ thats the exact one I used except 1/2" thick. I Think 3/8" would have actually been easier to work with but would just take a couple more layers.

Fabric shops (like for people who sew) have foam, as do what the first poster said, an auto trim repair shop. Also if you can find a place that makes mattresses custom-order (like Verlo), I’m sure they’d give you some scraps that would work fine. The Verlo stuff would probably be the most comfortable (high tech stuff!)

Here is a site for a rubber/foam company, they may be able to help you, but they are in Australia.
