How do I remove the leftover pieces of foam on my hardwood floor after i ripped up my carpet?

I just ripped up my carpet and the foam underneath, but the foam in stuck to the floor in some places, how do i get rid of it?
I have already tried a flat scraper and a hot, wet sponge and neither worked. Help!

If you are going to refinish the wood floor.

Try using a wet/dry sandpaper. Just make sure you have removed the staples holding the padding in place.

Steam. Quick pass, plastic scrapper. Quick pass scrapper. Until it loosens.

Very carefully, not to scrach the floor, either a razor scraper or a very flat edged tool from your local hardware store. If you ask them, they will show you different tools and maybe even a remover.

Most of the time the foam is put down with staples. Look carefully at the piece of foam and see if there isn’t a staple holding it down. A pair of diagonal pliers works pretty well for removing them.
