How can a fountain drink be filled without causing a lot of foam?

When a soda is filled in a foam cup, it foams right away. Is there a way to fill the cup without causing a lot of foam?

tilt the cup until it is on a diagonal, and pour slowly, so that it hits the side of the cup.

I used to have this problem, until I did this. When youre pouring it put your finger in the middle of the cup, the foam disappears like 20 times faster. And if its not yours, use a straw. Anything to increase the surface area of the cup… And like he said, tilt it on its side. Also try not to rapidly change its temperature like pouring it on ice.
