what better the blown/waffle rubber underlay or flat foam underlay please help?

ive only ever had the blown rubber type but the foam stuff is cheaper is there are difference or do they do the same job, there seems to be so many on the market. help

I check all thing I buy on google, but you get what you pay for as a rule

    I’d go for the blown rubber type stuff. It’s bouncier!
    I’ve pulled up carpet that’s only a couple of years old and found the foam stuff stuck to the floor boards. Very messy!
    I agree with your first respondent. Research, plan your budget and go for the best you can afford.
    It also depends on your carpet – if it’s an Axeminster, then it’s obvious you don’t go for foam. But if it’s a dirt cheap carpet, then you don’t want to spend more on the underlay, do you?

    Rubber is better and will last 10 times longer. The cost may be prohibitive. The lightweight foam is worthless over time.

    if its for a bedroom or room not used much use the cheaper but for a living room or stairs i would recommend the dearer one
