How to cut 20×30" 1/2" Foam Board Battlements?

I tryed to cut these battlements for Minas Tirith but the foam board is just to thick. Can somebody give me tips or tricks or what kinds of equipments you would find in your house?
I do own an Xacto Hobby Knife

You can make a hot-wire foam cutter if you can get an old toaster;
it’s probably not going to be around the house, but goodwill, salvation
army, and other types of thrift stores are likely to have old ones you can
get for $5 or so; you can use a short 4 or 5 inch sectoin of the heating
element wire hooked up to a 6 volt power supply or lantern battery and
use it to cut easily and cleanly through the foam board. It’s a bit more
work than just finding a good knife, but if you do a lot of work with foam
boards, it’s worth it.

    Single edge blade would work. Do you own an Exacto
    knife? Or perhaps a sharp steak knife would work.
