Where can I find the best memory foam products that can give me a better night sleep?

September 28, 2009 - 1:19 am 4 Comments

I am looking for a website that offers high-quality memory foam products that can help me have a more comfortable sleep. I have looked on the internet and alot of the websites that offer memory foam products charge way too much money. I want to know where I can get affordable and comfortable memory foam products to get me a better night sleep.

The best place to find memory foam products are located at www.mindbodysleep.com They offer cheap affordable memory foam pillows, memory foam bed toppers, etc. They also educate about sleep and how to improve sleeping habits. I have personally bought products from mindbodysleep.com and have been completely satisfied. You can also purchase relaxing music to help improve your sleep and try out their tips for a better sleep (it really works!).

How to cut foam case lining?

September 28, 2009 - 1:19 am 4 Comments

I’ve got an aluminium case for some glass equipment and want to cut out spaces in the foam lining to keep the items secure?

Can anyone please tell me how to do it to make it look tidy and proffessional? And make it function?

Any links to instructions or clips would be very much appreiated. Thanks.

If the pieces you want in the foam lining are rounded and you want round depressions, I am not sure how you would do that.

If you manage to pull the lining, or have additional foam to add, you can use a craft knife, scalpal looking thing, or a utility knife. Use the pieces as templates and draw around them.

If there are two pieces of foam, and you have rounded stuff to put in, I would try to work out the flat stuff and hope the rounded edges of your stuff will compress the foam enough to give it a memory and hold it in place.

Other than that, there are sewing electric scissors that could help.

Will there always be a problem keeping a mattress protector on a memory foam mattress?

September 28, 2009 - 1:19 am 3 Comments

I put the mattress protector on, go to sleep, and when I wake up in the morning it’s slipped right off again. I tried another one, but the same happened- will memory foam mattresses always shuck off mattress protectors in this way?

yes

In spite of the proper outlet for air circulation, memory foam can become hot. This makes it difficult to sleep. To prevent this, sleep on the mattress pad without the cover sheet. This will lower the temperature greatly. Reducing the room temperature will also help.

If you find the mattress very stiff when the temperature in your room is less than 65, warm up the memory foam mattress by using an electric blanket before sleeping. Cover up the memory foam mattress pad to protect it from stains and dirt. This will keep you mattress pad clean and increase its lifespan.

What kind of foam is used in tying flies?

September 28, 2009 - 1:19 am 4 Comments

I’ve been tying flies for several years now and I found a pattern I want to try to tie. The pattern calls for the use of "closed cell foam" but my local sporting goods store doesn’t carry this, or any other foam. So where can I find this foam or what is a good substitute for this foam?

Many materials can be found at craft stores such as AC Moore’s, Michael’s craft stores and so on……you can find craft foam, chenille, yarn, etc…..try looking on Youtube to see if there is a video on how to tie this fly or one similar……I just saw today a foam and deer hair grass hopper fly and a green meanie which I want to tie……good luck….

Where can I buy High Density foam? Walmart, Target, Micheals… Somewhere close?

September 28, 2009 - 1:19 am 2 Comments

At how much would it cost for about a 8ft by 33 in? I am making a bench seat cover :)

Foams are sold at craft stores not hardware or department stores so Michaels, Joanns, A.C. Moore or similar would be your best bet.

is there a formula to measure the difference between fiberglass insulation and spray polyurethane foam?

September 28, 2009 - 1:18 am 1 Comment

(ie) a home 20′x20′ with 8′ sidewalls 1 door 3′x6′ and 4 windows 2′x3′ with an envelope of fiberglass verse’s foam what would be the energy savings per year per product?

The difference between these two products will depend on their U-values. First you need to know the thermal conductivity of each material. Then you need to determine also the thicknesses of each material. Then you will get the thermal resistance of each material by dividing the thickess over the specified thermal conductivity of material. And finally, the inverse of thermal resistance is the U-value which determines the performance of each insulating material. The lower the value means the product gives a better insulation performance for the building.
Energy Savings per year will depend to a lot of factor. Since that you’ve given already the dimension of the building, we need also to detemine the function of the structure, base material, A/C performance etc…
